(Washington, DC) — The formation of a panel to search for the next DC schools chancellor is underway after an announcement yesterday by Mayor Vincent Gray. Gray says the search for the chancellor will be national in scope as prescribed by law. Interim Chancellor Kaya Henderson, who took over when Michelle Rhee stepped down last fall, will be considered for the permanent position. Gray says he may reveal the names of the panel members next week.
