June 5: This Day in Black Music History

Black Music Month originated in 1979.  President Jimmy Carter proclaimed the month of June as Black Music Month to celebrate the wonderful music, the achievements, births, important timelines, events and to remember those we lost.

3. Ola Hudson

2009: Ola Hudson was the mother of guitarist Slash (real name Saul Hudson). She tailored beautiful outfits for Diana Ross, the Pointer Sisters, David Bowie, John Lennon to name a few. She died of cancer, aged 62.
