If you are a person that likes driving on bridges, have I got one for you!
Put this one on your bucket list: The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. It’s 400,000 tons of steel and includes a 4-mile tunnel. Overall, it’s 34 MILES LONG and cost $20 billion.
It was designed to cut the time between Hong Kong and mainland China from a 3 hour trip by ferry to 30 minutes. Officials also believe that it will increase tourism in the region.
It is built to withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake, a super typhoon, and strikes by super-sized cargo vessels. Strangely enough, it’s only the 6th longest bridge in China, with the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge taking the top honors at 98 MILES LONG, but it is the world’s longest sea bridge.
