Probably not this way though. A Chinese kindergarten principal was fired after she welcomed her students (3-6 of age) and their parents back to school. What’s the problem you ask? She did it with a pole dance.

The principal hired a dancer to give a pole dancing exhibition. Apparently, in China, it’s customary to welcome the pupils back with ceremonies or a motivational talk. Principal Lai Rong thought that because of the dancer’s “excellent skills” this was a good idea.

Some parents at the Xinshahui kindergarten in Shenzhen, in the southern province of Guangdong, requested a refund. Others wanted to learn a new type of dance.

In a statement, the local education bureau said an investigation had found a pole dancing business had been invited into the kindergarten to perform.

“The district education bureau believes performing pole dancing for kindergarten children is not appropriate,” the statement said, adding the school had been asked to apologize to students and parents.

Way to kick off the school year!
