Sherrella La Bella is a former model, agency owner, event manager and promoter — turned health and fitness innovator! Her movement, The Good Thick, has inspired so many young professionals in the DC area and beyond to take charge of their bodies. With her regular posts featuring beautiful food displays of fruit, veggies, smoothies, salads, and entrees, as well as exercise tips, and glimpses into her own weight-loss journey, she is becoming a go-to source and inspiration to many.
How would you describe your personal style?
My style is pretty simple. I love “Ready wear” items. It’s easier for me since I haven’t owned an iron in 10 years, and the way my body is built anything stretchy ALWAYS works. However, as it turns out these days all I’ve been wearing is spandex and sports bras!
Who is your favorite designer and why?
I absolutely love Calvin Klein. His high end dresses have always fit my body like a leather glove!
Favorite item in your wardrobe?
My favorite item in my wardrobe is my floor length plum sweater, it goes with everything!
What individual has had the greatest influence on your style?
My older cousin Karina started it all. I used to watch her get dressed and she always had so many options. She is EXTREMELY stylish and always had really expensive pieces.
In one sentence, describe your philosophy or approach to life.

What is “The Good Thick” and how did the concept come about?
I honestly, wasn’t thinking about building a brand. I would use the term “#TheGoodThick” on Instagram as a way to motivate myself to lose the fat and become “the good thick.” So I would hashtag it everytime I posted a pic of my food or a pic of me in the gym. Next thing you know, people were saying they were inspired by my journey and wanted a “The Good Thick” shirt. I had a logo created and from there I began to build on it. Now, I’m working on creating an entire healthy lifestyle plan for each of my individual clients by incorporating my Detox teas, fruit infused waters, and really fun meal plans.
