Apple has reached a tentative collective bargaining contract with its first unionized store in the U.S. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers’ Coalition of Organized Retail Employees, representing employees at the Towson, Maryland location, announced a three-year deal that includes a 10% average pay increase and additional benefits.

The agreement, pending approval from roughly 85 employees at the store, will be voted on August 6. The union’s negotiating committee expressed optimism, stating the agreement gives members a voice and is a significant first step.

Apple has not commented on the deal, which follows a strike authorization in May after over a year of negotiations. The Towson store is one of two unionized Apple locations in the country, the other being in Oklahoma City. While unions have seen election successes at various companies, securing contracts has been challenging.
