Mayte Garcia, former wife of 4 years to Prince, opened recently in a new memoir titled ‘The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince’. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Garcia gave details of the birth and death of Prince’s only child they named Amiir. Garcia claims Prince never got over the death of their child who was born with Pheiffer syndrome and only lived for only 6 days.
In an excerpt from the interview Garcia recalls the delivery in detail: [“I don’t know how to describe the look on my husband’s face. Pure joy.” “And then they held the baby up to those harsh lights,” she continues. “The elation on my husband’s face turned to pure terror.”] The former background dancer for Prince gave details of how the child was deformed with its eyes hanging out of the skull.
