Lakers player D’Angelo Russell just broke the number one rule of bro code.
In what appears to be a Snapchat video, teammate Nick Young (who is unknowingly being recorded) is asked about allegedly being involved with other women. This creates a huge issue because Young got engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea last June. The video recently found its way onto the internet and has reportedly created a rift in the Lakers locker room – not to mention the team lost to the Utah Jazz Monday night by 48 points.
“You was 30 and she was 19?” Russell asked Young, referencing a woman he met at a club.
Later in the video, Russell allegedly said, “I’m glad you told my video all that.”
According to the LA Times, the clip was filmed months ago and is a result of the guys on the team constantly trying to prank each other. But Russell took things a bit too far this time.
“D’Angelo is sometimes 20 going on 14,” a person familiar with the situation told the Times.
Neither the Lakers, nor Nick Young or D’Angelo Russell have made a public statement about the touchy subject. Luckily, the Lakers only have eight games left in the season, so hopefully cooler heads will prevail.
