Torrei Hart is best known as Kevin Hart’s ex-wife, but that should change. Hart, who is currently on Atlanta Exes, is herself a stand-up comedienne. Now that she’s receiving more exposure through her role along with Usher’s ex Tameka Raymond, she’s hoping to parlay that into more interest in her comedy work.
“I do plan on going back to stand up. It’s not a competition. But I’m pretty funny. I got class clown in HS. Always in theaters and plays. I think that’s why Kevin and I connected on that level. It was in me, like it was in him. he did inspire me a lot – good and bad.”
Atlanta Exes has helped bring Hart exposure on her own merits. She says she’s enjoying the reality show, despite the cat-fighting and petty dramas that most of them come with.
It’s going good. We’re done filming so I’m watching just like you all are. The mess is good,” Hart says. Despite some testy moments with Raymond in particular, Hart says she’s happy to work with all the women on the show, which include Cee Lo Green’s ex and Ne-Yo’s ex-fiancee and baby mama.
“I don’t want to vote anyone off the island. I enjoy all the women.”
One thing that may have helped Atlanta Exes get off the ground was the timing of Kevin Hart’s engagement to girlfriend Eniko Parrish, which happened the night the show premiered. Hart says she has no hard feelings about the timing.

” I believe helped the ratings. It was all over Twitter. It was trending, the show was trending and the next day it was all over TV, and the Internet. So he actually helped me.”
As far as Parrish is concerned, Hart, who has said that she holds her responsible for the breakup of her marriage, says she’ll keep it cool for the kid’s sake but she’s not really interested in much more.
“I don’t really want to talk about her. It is what it is. Life goes on. I don’t know if anyone else has dealt with the blended family thing but sometimes you have to reprogram a little bit. What you do in your dad’s house, you don’t do it here.”
Hart says she hasn’t decided if he standup will include and jabs at her ex-husband, for comedy’s sake.
“I have a lot of material about myself. I’m in a new relationship. I hate that everybody says that I’m bitter. I’m not bitter at all. But I’m honest. I’ve never said anything bad about the man. I just think people take honesty the wrong way. I’m through with comedians. No thank you. I have a taller man. I can wear my heels. I love [Kevin] he is my kid’s father and I learned a lot from him. I really appreciate him. I do. He’s family for life. We’re connected for life.”
