The annual Congressional Black Caucus weekend is this weekend and that means that there’s a lot going on. Although it’s become Known as one of the biggest Black events on the annual social calendar , there is a serious side to the gathering. Congresswomen Marcia Fudge, who represents Ohio’s 11th district, says that this year has been particularly challenging for the 44 members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Yesterday $39 billion dollars was cut from the federal food stamp program with the Republican majority in Congress at the helm. No Democrats voted for the bill, and 15 Republicans voted against it as well.
“I don’t think people don’t really understand how difficult it is to work with people who don’t care about the needy or people who don’t care about federal employees or postal workers or children or veterans. It’s a sad state of affairs, “ Fudge told the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
