(Washington, DC) — Fewer Washingtonians will travel at least 50 miles from home this coming Labor Day weekend, although that won’t be noticed on the highways.Triple-A Mid-Atlantic estimates more than 730-thousand DC area residents will flee the area for the final holiday weekend of the summer, a two-point-two-percent decrease from last year. A Triple-A spokesman says concerns about the economy and rising airfares will diminish the number of air travelers, but there will actually be a slightly higher number of motorists.
