(Washington, DC)  —  First Lady Michelle Obama will be in the White House vegetable garden this afternoon.  She has invited a group of Native American school children to help her plant corn, beans and squash.  Known at the “three sisters,” those three crops have been planted together by traditional Native American farmers for centuries.  The First Lady has made it her special mission this summer to reach out to Native American tribes in her fight against childhood obesity.  She launched the campaign “Let’s Move! in Indian Country” late last month to encourage Native American kids to make healthy lifestyle choices.
