(Annapolis, MD) — Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley is calling for greater protections for transgendered people, following a hate crime attack in Baltimore County. Reacting to the beating of Chrissy Lee Polis last month, the Governor said that even with Maryland’s hate crimes law, it’s clear that more must be done to protect the rights and dignity of transgendered people.
