(Washington, DC)  — The federal government is releasing a report that criticizes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, saying it mislead the public when it said in 2004 that elevated levels of lead in DC’s tap water did not pose a threat.  The “Washington Post” reports the Government Accountability Office will release its findings later this month. In the report, the GAO calls on the CDC to list in a new article all of the dangers of lead in drinking water, especially when it comes to the health risk in children.
