Seven former and current Zeta Phi Beta sorority members from the University of Maryland have been charged with assault in alleged hazing incidents. The women were charged Wednesday after a student who was pledging the sorority in October claims she was assaulted on several different occasions. The victim says she was repeatedly punched, hit with an oak paddle and choked. Zeta Phi Beta is a historically black sorority that’s existed for more than 30 years and the organization was suspended indefinitely in November after the allegations surfaced
