A shootout with a drug suspect ended with three Chicago police officers injured and the suspect dead. The officers are recovering from their injuries, and investigators say they recovered the suspect's weapon.

Pierre Stokes, 25, was charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery for a shooting on March 8.

Two workers at Chicago's 911 center have been suspended without pay after failing to send police to assist Quintonio LeGrier, who called 911 three times for help on Dec. 26 from his father’s West Side apartment, reports the Washington Post.

The petition, filed this week in a Cook County Circuit court, seeks to have Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez removed from the case due to her connection with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).

Arguing that Quintonio LeGrier, 19, was unarmed when Chicago police shot and killed him over the weekend, his father on Monday filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city, reports DNAinfo Chicago.
