Speaking with Vic Jagger, Musiq expressed his excitement for the upcoming February 15th and 16th performances at DAR Constitution Hall. Sharing the stage with such talented artists, he says, is the “special part” of the tour. “I’m still able to touch one for you guys… and people still care,” he said, humbly acknowledging the ongoing love from fans.
During the interview, Musiq Soulchild opened up about his songwriting approach, highlighting how his music often reflects the complexities of relationships. “I like to speak on the step-by-step, the unspoken parts,” he explained, referencing songs like “Teach Me How to Love.” He added, “I don’t have all the answers… but I just want to start the conversation so that you guys can figure it out in your own time.”
When asked about his ability to create love anthems, the artist modestly deferred to his audience, saying, “It’s up to you guys… it’s all up to how you resonate.”
For fans attending the R&B Invitation Tour, his only wish is for them to “arrive in good faith” and enjoy the rare opportunity to see three legacy artists together on stage. Music Soulchild remains deeply appreciative of the fans who continue to support his music. “Please just… enjoy,” he urged.
