It feels like we’ve been waiting forever, but in less than one month the last season of Game of Thrones will finally be here— and we couldn’t be more excited. Clearly.

For seven long seasons, GoT entertained with stomach-churning drama, exquisite costumery, and some of the most intense scenes in television history. Now, the trailer for season 8 is here and it promises to take tragedy and theatrics to an entirely new level.

As war against the White Walkers looms, the show’s most merciless killer Arya is seen running from something unknown. “I know death,” she says calmly. “He’s got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one.” Elsewhere, Sansa is amazed by Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons, Jaime Lannister says he intends to keep his promise to “fight for the living,” Cersei is being… Cersei, and Dany and Jon Snow make their way towards the dragons.

The trailer is a first look at the war against the Wights, a battle we’ve been waiting about two years to see, and it looks like things are going to get very ugly. Set to last an entire episode, according to EW, the site reports the battle is “expected to be the longest consecutive action sequence in cinema history.”

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 14.
