The two top officials of Congress, Speaker Paul D. Ryan and Rep. Nancy Pelosi have both gone public calling on Rep. John Conyers Jr., the oldest lawmaker in Congress, to resign amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

It was discovered that the 88-year-old Rep. Conyers paid a settlement of $27,000 to former employee Marion Brown, who accused Conyers of sexual harassment.

While appearing on the Today Show, Brown said “Some of the things that he did, it was sexual harassment. Violating my body, propositioning me, inviting me to hotels with the guise of discussing business and then propositioning for sex. He just violated my body. He has touched me in different ways, and it was very uncomfortable and very unprofessional.”

Congressman Conyers was recently admitted to a local Detroit hospital for dizziness, shortness of breath, and lightheadedness.
