TMZ is reporting that rapper Nelly has been arrested for alleged rape. According to law enforcement sources, the St. Louis rapper is accused of raping a Washington woman on his tour bus this morning after a show in Ridgefield, Washington. The alleged incident occurred at approximately 3:45 this morning and an unidentified woman has identified Nelly as the person who raped her. Nelly was arrested shortly after the allegation and was released shortly after 7 am.
Nelly’s lawyer issued a statement regarding the incident:
“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
