‘Black-ish’ Star Yara Shahidi’s ABC Spinoff Gets New Name

After the big announcement that ABC’s hit show “Black-ish” would be getting a spin-off starring teenage sensation Yara Shahidi, it’s been revealed the show has a new name.

Previously the show was going to be called College-ish, which was a great start due to Shahidi being accepted into Harvard University early this year.

Creator Kenya Barris made a statement about the show – “Grown-ish reflects what we’ll be dealing with in the show — that in-between place where you’re not quite an adult but facing grown world problems for the first time. Where Black-ish examines what it means to be black, Grown-ish is an examination of what it is and what it means to be grown.”
