Gatlinburg police were called to Mayor Jerry Kirkman’s home after a child had been discovered dead due to being left in a hot vehicle overnight.
Kirkman is the mayor of Westmoreland, a town with a population of 2,000. Friends of the family say the child was the mayor’s grandson.
If the mayor is found to be the negligent party responsible, it will be interesting to see how charges will unfold, especially at a time where so many hot-car-deaths are being reported.
