They say it’s the third time’s the charm when it comes to anything special, but if you look at the reigning rap rise of Jay-Z and hit play on his 4:44 opus, it’s actually four times. That explains why, before we’ve even had his latest album for an entire seven days, Jay’s thirteenth studio triumph has hit RIAA-certified platinum status.

Announced on the official Roc Nation Twitter account, Mr. Carter posed next to his platinum plaque for the June 30-released project. Following up, the RIAA also tweeted its congratulations to him and announced his record-breaking milestone.

“’4:44’ goes platinum- JAY-Z’s Platinum (or higher) solo studio Album Awards are more than any other hip hop artist,” the tweet reads.

And as a Tidal exclusive, the album hasn’t even reached other music-streaming services just yet before gaining its platinum crown, which also means the certification stems from streaming numbers only. The album is also yet another installation to his platinum-dominating discography, with the most recent being Magna Carta Holy Grailproject, which went platinum in the U.S. on the same day of its release.

The Roc is back. Congratulations, Jay! See 4:44’s RIAA-certified platinum certification below.
