Queen Latifah says the gay character – Cleo – she played in “Set It Off”, was one of her most difficult career decisions she had to make.

She says she was mainly worried about her younger siblings being teased and warned them that their classmates may say negative things. Queen says she did it because she believed she could bring positive attention to the gay African-American community and that she could do a great job as an actor.
