I’m sad to report that former “American Idol” finalist Rickey Smith was killed late Thursday night, early Friday morning in a multi-car highway wreck in Oklahoma.
This all happened just outside of Oklahoma City on I-240. According to reports, another man slammed head-on into Smith’s vehicle while driving the wrong way on the interstate. Police say the other driver was hospitalized and booked for DUI.
Smith finished in eighth place during the second season of ‘Idol,’…that was the year that Ruben Studdard took the title.
He was only 36 years old and extremely talented.
