An African-American man was given a life-sentence by a Houston jury for raping both his 23-month-old niece and a teenage girl, says ABC-13 News. The defendant, David Wilson, 33, who is HIV-positive, also transmitted the virus to his victims. The jury only took an hour to hand down this hefty verdict, which in the state of Texas raping minors can carry a life-sentence.

The 2-year-old’s parents believed that sending their daughter to live with family in Texas would be best. Sadly, this was the same family home where David Wilson, a registered sex-offender, resided. Last November, the child, whose mother was Wilson’s sister, was taken to the doctor and diagnosed with herpes, chlamydia and HIV. When the doctor notified the police, they tested all four adults in the home and the only that tested positive was David Wilson. Yet for whatever reason, Wilson was not arrested at that time, ABC reported. Also, the toddler had to receive reconstructive surgery on her genitals due to the severity of the infections.

The other survivor, a 14-year-old pregnant teen, also tested positive for HIV, herpes and chlamydia after confiding in a case-worker that she was ” having sex” with the much older Wilson. Because the state of Texas’ legal age of consent is 17, the case worker notified the authorities.

This wasn’t the first time Wilson has been convicted of raping a child. In 2005, a jury found him guilty of sexual assault and a result, he served 4 years in prison, ABC-13 noted.

There are no words.
