Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, subject of a new HBO documentary, ‘Kareem: Minority Of One’ recently spoke out on NBA legend Michael Jordan. Jordan, who once refused to endorse a Democratic senatorial candidate because “Republicans buy shoes too” was criticized by Abdul-Jabbar for choosing “commerce over conscience…It’s unfortunate for him, but he’s gotta live with it.”
Jabbar was speaking with NPR’s Michel Martin when he made those comments in response to being questioned about his paying a price for being outspoken.
