How he prepared for the role:

“It all started with a deputy chief who was a consultant on the show. When we all first walk through the door, we were a bunch of actor that came from LA. We knew nothing about Chicago firemen and the service and how deep that goes.  He instilled in us a passion and the heart of the men and women that are there.”

Will he ever return to the stage?

“Funny enough, I just agreed to do a play this summer. So I’m staying in Chicago.”

Chicago Fire airs on Tuesday at 10p/9p CST.
