On Sunday, October 27th I, along with four other dynamic individuals, completed the Marine Corps Marathon. It was tough, grueling, and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. You learn a lot about yourself and your teammates during that 26.2 miles. I would like to thank every member of Team Hail Mary for joining me in running MCM 2013 to raise funds and awareness for Lung Cancer Alliance. You are 4 dynamic individuals. Together, we made the perfect storm. Ajani Simmons–You were the sage of the group. Your knowledge–and willingness to share–was invaluable. Your passion for running inspired us all. Heck, because of you, I left the ear buds home and focused on the goal. Chris Harris–You were Mr. Shut Up And Run! You never said much but your diligence and consistency provided a great example for us all. There were times I didn’t want to train and the thought of your dedication got my behind on that track. Denise Hill–You are one tough cookie. Your ability to push pass injury and a hectic work schedule to put in miles (all while balancing Mommy duties) was nothing short of impressive. Nisa Heart–Your mental fortitude, research, and strategic approach to training and the race served us well. You are all gems and I couldn’t have made it through without you. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
