“Love That Girl” is back, but with a slightly different look. Original cast member Tatyana Ali elected to remain with “Next Generation Wayans” on BET so cast member Bresha Webb goes to front and center this season along with comedian Huggy Lowdown. (Ali remains a producer on the show.)
“Imunique, played by Bresha Webb, was kind of the breakout star anyway so we centered the show around her,” says show producer and creator Bentley Kyle Evans, who was also a producer on “Martin,” “The Jamie Foxx Show” and the short-lived Orlando Jones comedy sketch show.
“You run into a little bit of difficulty whenever you have to make changes like that but we had a little bit of time to pre-plan it so it was kind of seamless and the show must go on.”

While he’s currently putting his creative energy into developing Huggy Lowdown, potentially as an eventual spinoff to his own show, Evans says that out of the comics he worked with, he gives the edge to Lawrence despite his volatility. “Martin was passionate,” says Evans. “He loves what he does so he definitely put both feet in.”
Season 4 of “Love that Girl” premieres on TV One Friday, October 11 at 9:30 p.m.
