(Washington, DC) — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel wants 400-thousand furloughed military employees to return to work next week. Those employees were sent home last week after Congress failed to reach a spending deal, forcing a partial government shutdown. Sources inside the Pentagon say Hagel has been reviewing his authority to recall workers without congressional consent. Hagel said Pentagon employees can expect to hear more from their managers over the weekend.
