While many will come to commemorate the anniversary of the March on Washington the weekend before, on August 28, at a ceremony commemorating the occasion, President Barack Obama will deliver a speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial; the very same steps where Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his signature “I Have a Dream” speech.The White House says the president’s speech will be delivered during the “Let Freedom Ring” ceremony.
Eurweb.com says the “Let Freedom Ring” ceremony is being organized by the King Center in Atlanta. Plans include an interfaith service and ringing of bells at 3 p.m. to mark the time King delivered his speech on Aug. 28, 1963.
