Tamar Braxton is having a very, very good year. Not only has she had her first child, Logan, with husband Vincent Herbert, their reality series “Tamar and Vincent” is returning to WeTV on xx, she’s touring with John Legend this fall and her daytime talk show, “The Real” is in a four week test run in 6 cities. As Tamar herself would say, her life right now is the bomb.com.
“It’s a blessing to go to work every day,” Tamar told The Tom Joyner Morning Show. Though “Kris,” the daytime talk show with Kris Jenner at the helm is also being tested on Fox stations, reviews have been mixed.
“I know that “Kris” was scheduled to have her run and then they wanted to have a run with a second show and “The Real” was just it. I don’t know if it’s a competition,” Tamar says. “We just went into it knowing that it was an opportunity for all of us and we just had a ball. It worked.”
Unfortunately, even if “The Real” which also stars comedian Loni Love, actress/singer Adrienne Bailon, actress Jeannie Mai and actress/reality TV star Tamera Mowry-Hounsley, is picked up, shows won’t start airing until September 2014. The good news is, previously tested shows “bethenny” and “TMZ Live” via the Fox/Telepictures partnership, which backs “The Real,” have both been green-lit.
“We’re #1,” Tamar says. “We doubled what Bethenny [Frankel] did last year with her test run. Telepictures is really excited about it and we’re really blessed to be a part of the Telepictures family because they’re an amazing production company.”
As for the relationships between the women on the show. Tamar says there’s no drama whatsoever.
“There’s no divas. Well, Vince is always a diva but he’s not on the show, “ Tamar laughs. “The girls are really, really, nice women. We all have a common goal; just to have a laugh and have a ball on daytime television. It’s been a while since I watched a daytime show that I would laugh out loud and learn something along the way. “
