UPDATE: Ariel Castro, arrested in connection with the kidnapping and rape of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight, has been formally charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape.

A judge has officially set Castro’s bail at $2 million for each woman and the Berry’s 6-year old child, totaling $8 million. New evidence discovered by law enforcement who searched Castro’s home found a suicide note that suggests premeditation and even mentions Castro himself possibly being the victim of abuse by a family member.

Also according to CNN, Michelle Knight told authorities about multiple pregnancies she endured during her captivity and how Castro forced her to abort her pregnancies by both starvation and beating her in her abdomen.  Berry’s child was delivered in the home.

The women also described how Castro kept them captive by chaining them in the basement. The women eventually were allowed tolive on the second floor but were forced to stay through intimidation punishing them if he suspected they tried to escape.

Additionally, Castro’s brothers, Pedro and Onil who were also taken into custody with him have been cleared in connection with the kidnappings and are being held on unrelated charges.

Also, new facts have arisen about Charles Ramsey, being hailed as a hero for the role he played in helping free the three women after hearing Berry.

Ramsey, according to reports, has served time for domestic violence, drug possession, receiving stolen property, and trespassing according to The Smoking Gun. The sentences occurred in the late 90’s, early 200’s and have been confirmed by Ramsey’s ex-wife.
