After just two-seasons on “American Idol”, Jennifer Lopez is leaving the show and may be replaced by Mariah Carey. The “Waiting For Tonight” singer confirmed her departure on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Friday morning.
“I honestly feel the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I put on hold because I love Idol so much,” Lopez said on On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
People magazine reported Friday that Carey is in “serious talks” to join “American Idol” as a judge.
That leaves Randy Jackson as the only original judge still on the singing competition show, but there are also rumors that he may be out of the show.
