Jackie “Moms” Mabley rose to national recognition as a standup comedian in the early 1960s.
The film is about African-American comedian Moms Mabley and titled, “I Got Somethin’ To Tell You,” after her 1963 album. Goldberg, who was inspired by Mabley as a fellow comedian, told Variety that the documentary will focus on Mabley’s impact and legacy.
