(Alexandria, VA) — There’s controversy over a flood-prevention proposal in Old Town Alexandria. At a city council meeting Saturday, residents argued over whether to build a flood barrier in the form of new hotels and restaurants. Some are concerned that kind of development would make the historic waterfront look more like the glitzy National Harbor. Council agreed to postpone a vote on the plan.
