Denzel Washington called it quits on the movie Unstoppable because the studio couldn’t get it together. How dare they leave Denzel hanging?!
Film studio 20th Century Fox has been caught sleeping on Denzel Washington. According to Variety, the Oscar-winning heartthrob has officially withdrawn from the studio’s film Unstoppable after waiting three months for the company to set a budget and a start date. Fox reportedly tried coming back to the table with a different offer it hoped would entice him to reconsider, but according to the actor’s reps, Washington is now actively looking at other projects for the fall since he now has some free time. Washington was supposed to re-team with director Tony Scott for Unstoppable, which would find him playing a veteran engineer who jumps into a locomotive with a young conductor to halt an unmanned runaway train filled with a toxic chemical. That sounds like it would have been good, too! Maybe Scott can talk Denzel back into the role while the two are in Europe this week promoting their latest movie together, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.
