Black Music Month originated in 1979. Jimmy Carter proclaimed the month of June as Black Music Month to celebrate the wonderful music, the  achievements, births, important timelines, events and to remember those we lost.

These famous people are blowing out the candles today: Bishop TD Jakes (56) Michael J Fox (52) Johnny Depp (50) Tamela Mann (48) On this day we also remember Jackie Wilson.  He would have been 80.  

This year, some are celebrating “Thanksgivukkah,” as Thanksgiving is celebrated the day after the first Hanukkah calendars are lit on Wednesday night.
