UPDATE:
The Baltimore Ravens have released running back Ray Rice, the team announced on Monday afternoon. The release comes following a video of him striking his then-fiancee Janay Palmer and knocking her unconscious leaked Monday through TMZ.
Ray Rice had been serving a two-game suspension handed down earlier this year by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell has subsequently acknowledged his mistake in the face of widespread public criticism over the length of the suspension.
Back in February photos and videos were leaked of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice dragging his fiancée Janay out of an elevator at Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. TODAY, TMZ released footage of the incident behind closed elevator doors. Take a look below
From the footage you can infer the two were in a pretty heated argument which caused Janay to throw the first blow before entering the elevator. Once the elevator doors closed shut , TMZ reports Inside the elevator it’s apparent he strikes first … she hits back … and then Rice delivers the knockout blow. The punch knocks Janay off her feet — and she smashes her head on the elevator hand rail … knocking her out cold.
After seeing this, do you think his 2 game suspension was deemed equivalent to act of violence he committed to his fiancée Janae?
