Former pro tennis player Anne White says she knows how Serena Williams feels about the ban on her catsuit at the French Open because she went through the exact same thing in the early ’80s.

White famously wore a bodysuit to play in Wimbledon in 1985. However, she was told during the tournament that the suit violated the dress code and she needed to change it or she couldn’t continue.

According to TMZ, White feels that the whole thing is sexist. Much like Serena, White says that her catsuit was more about function than fashion, explaining that her outfit was intended to keep her warm in the cold weather.
