According to a statement released by Howard University, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will address the school. Boseman is a graduate of the University and will give his speech on May 12 during the 150th commencement at Howard.
During the commencement, Chadwick will presented with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, the university’s highest honor.
President Wayne Frederick said in a statement that Black Panther “reminds us of the excellence found in the African diaspora and how Howard continues to be a gem that produces the next generation of artist-scholars, humanitarians, scientists, engineers and doctors.”
In the last few years, President Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and Diddy have also provided remarks during Howard’s commencement ceremonies.
