Race continues to be an issue in America. And while we’ve come so far, there’s so much further we have to go. Some of the headlines from the past week can attest to that:
- 7th grade students in Michigan received an email from within their middle school that said in effect: “U need ta [sic] get your n**ger loving as* out of here and all this Black lives matter bullsh*.
- The New York Times fired opinion writer Quinn Norton shortly after she was hired for racist and homophobic slurs on her Twitter account.
- Washington Capitals hockey player Devante Smith-Pelley, who is black, was subjected to racist taunts by Chicago Blackhawk fans while he sat in the penalty box on during a game on Saturday night.
