Bo Young Lee has been named as the first-ever Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Uber. The creation of the new position follows recommendations by former Attorney General Eric Holder that Uber create a senior executive position to handle diversity, after Holder’s investigation into Uber’s workplace culture. The University of Michigan graduate, who earned her MBA from NYU, was previously the Global Diversity and Inclusion Officer at financial services firm Marsh. Prior to Marsh, Lee was the Global Practice Leader for Diversity Best Practices Consulting, she launched Aon Hewitt’s Global Emerging Workforce Solutions consulting practice and held diversity leadership roles at Ernst & Young and National Grid.
