Billboard‘s 2008 Woman of the Year honoree Ciara returns this year as host of its annual Women in Music dinner and awards ceremony, honoring the many powerful women in today’s music industry. Along with previously announced honorees, Solange will receive this year’s Impact Award.
Other honorees include Woman of the Year recipient Selena Gomez, Powerhouse Award winner Kelly Clarkson, Icon Award winner Mary J. Blige, Camila Cabello as this year’s Breakthrough Artist and Kehlani as Billboard’s Rule Breaker, as well as this year’s Rising Star, Grace VanderWaal.
The Billboard Women in Music event was created to spotlight female trailblazers in the music industry. These women are powerful leaders and pioneers, creating inspirational legacies and opening doors.
Thee Women in Music’s red carpet pre-show and event is scheduled to live-stream via Twitter from 6 to 9 p.m. PT on Thursday.
