It wasn’t much longer after Justin Timberlake Tweeted he would be headlining the 2018 Super Bowl halftime performance that Janet Jackson fans around the world banned together in support of their icon’s “fall from America’s grace.”

If you remember, back in 2004 Jackson brought Timberlake out as a guest at the Super Bowl and their infamous “wardrobe malfunction” had everyone thinking they’d both be banned from all future NFL performances.

But it was Janet who took the blame and suffered major career setbacks after MTV & Viacom essentially blackballed her videos and songs from being played on-air. Recently an NFL spokesman confirmed with TMZ that Jackson nor Timberlake were banned from performing during the halftime show.

We’ll have to wait at least three more months to find out of Justin Timberlake has invited Janet Jackson for a ‘do-over’ of their 2004 Super Bowl performance.
