After getting down on both knees during the national anthem at last Sunday’s game, some fans are no longer considering Ray Lewis as one of the Raven’s great former players.

A petition is circulating with over 25,000 signatures of fans wanting to see Lewis’ statue taken down from Baltimore’s M&T stadium. This stance comes at a time of heightened division after Trump called for the firing of NFL players who kneel during the nation’s anthem.

Lewis has stated, “I took two knees because I have a first amendment right just like everybody else. And when I came out of that locker room, I had choice to make.” Many took to Twitter to express frustration over Ravens’ fans taking more offense to Lewis kneeling than his prior murder charge.

Should the Lewis statue come down as a result of his actions or should he have to deal with the consequences of his actions?
