A police officer struck by a rock during a July 2016 protest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana who tried suing Black Lives Matter organization for his injuries has had the claims struck down by the Supreme Court.

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Brian Jackson blocked the lawsuit ruling that, “‘Black Lives Matter,’ as a social movement, cannot be sued, however, in a similar way that a person cannot plausibly sue other social movements such as the Civil Rights movement, the LGBT rights movement or the Tea Party movement.”

Let’s hope this ruling helps those who don’t understand BLM see that everyone is afforded the right to protest.
