Electronics retailer Best Buy is apologizing after a photo went viral showing cases of water selling for more than $40 in Houston, Texas as Hurricane Harvey approached. In a statement, Best Buy announced that they do not sell water by the case and blamed the mistake on employees.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, there have been at least 600 cases of “price gauging” reported, which means businesses are charging more than they should for basic necessities.
