Sharonda Coleman-Singleton lost her life as she attended bible study the night Dylann Roof decided to fire rounds inside the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, killing 9 innocent victims.
Now exactly two years later her son, Chris Singleton, was selected during the Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago Cubs. Singleton attended Charleston Southern University with a good season at 18 steals, 4 home runs, and 38 runs scored.
This is great news, especially after losing his father in February. Being the breadwinner, Singleton and a friend started a pool cleaning company to support their families. While cleaning pools he got the phone call confirming he had been drafted.
This young man has his head on right and it’s good to see out of all the bad that’s happened he’s still in good spirits. Hats off to the Chicago Cubs for making an excellent pick!
